Ulysses textbook

Using an extract from Irish Writer James Joyce's modernist novel Ulysses (1922), this project explores the book as a tactile object.

The strips of text have been sewn in by hand by a literal continuous thread, representing the character Leopold Blooms train of thought. The text is be used visually not only to signify meaning, but also play an active role in creating it, through compositional design, contrasting voices, pace and rhythm and the passage of time.
